need help quick!
my dad has a 97 f-350 and it just went hay wire on him and he is 180 miles from home on the side of the road. he said what happened was the alt. started discharging and the abs light came on,the speedometer and tach quit, the trans. overdrive light started flashing, he drove as far as he could but it just died 20 min. later and the new batteries are dead and the truck just clicks when he tries to start it

sounds like possibly the alternator went bye bye, but if he can make sure he test's both batts before replacing the alternator and or batts.

I would say the alternator took a dump and killed the batteries. mine did the same thing about a month ago. replaced the alternator and it fixed it.

i just didnt know if the alt. going bad would kill the truck and its the worst time to find an alt.
