New 7.3 Install Vibration

Hello All,
Advice is needed. I just installed a new 7.3 motor (11K miles actually) and tran in my 01 F250. The motor seems to vibrate a lot more than it used to. I'm thinking of replacing the motor mounts, and probably should have done that in the first place while I had the motor out. The mounts were a little worn but not bad at all so I left them as is. However, I dont know what else could be the problem. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks & Happy New Year

your on the right path...
also does it vibrate more intense if you put it in gear and stand on the brake petal and give it fuel?

if you can do something to really get it going and have another person crawl around feeling and listening for the vibration... thats the best move.

could be motor mount, tranny mount, loose bolt(s), etc.

good luck

New 7.3 Install Vibration

I've been meaning to get on here and respond for a while. I replaced the motor mounts and it worked like a charm. I think it's even smoother than it was before I replaced the motor. Thanks for the input, if you know anyone looking for a used 7.3 let me know. My old one has a lot of miles (340K) but I drove it every day before I made the swap.
I want to put a level kit on it now. Have any input? There's so many out there I'm not sure where to go. I just know I want a smooth a ride as possible.
Thanks again!

Glad you got it fixed, and thanks for the follow up. If you're wanting a smooth ride, and time isn't a critical factor, you should read up on a '05-07 axle/suspension swap. That will give you coils in the front, which are notorious for being comfortable as all get out.
