Need help! found small freeze plug in oil pan!
Hi guys, I need some help!
I recently bought a 1999 F250 SD 7.3L diesel. Due to a leaking oil pan, I pulled the motor to reseal it. After I got the motor out and on the stand, I pulled the oil pan and found a small freeze plug (or non-threaded oil galley plug) sitting in the pan! I looked all over the lower end of the motor and can't see where it could have come from. Does anyone have a idea where it could have fallen out of?
Also worth noting is the oil pressure is kind of low at idle, right around 7PSI (measured at the oil filter). I just bought the truck and the seller said he had the engine rebuilt about 6 months before I got it.
I could really use some help on this one, I have rebuilt motors before, but this is my first diesel...
Thanks,
Nick
