another icp question

Been getting the code 1280 icp out of range low for a while now. The truck starts and runs fine until you get into high rpm's and then it acts like it isn't getting enough fuel. My question is does the icp actually control oil pressure or does it just read oil pressure? Or is it possible that my hpop isn't putting out enough pressure? I just want to get some opinions before I start throwing $ at it. I pulled the plug and no oil. Also pulled the sensor and cleaned it. No change

ICP tells the IPR what to do.

Are the connections on the ICP alright? while the truck is running wiggle the connection see if it stumbles at all? The sensor itself could be finished. CPS could be a culprit. I picked up a new ICP on ebay, a NAPA part for 50$ cheapest I found.

Thank you for clearing that up. Wasn't sure of the order of things there.

Connectors look fine. Will try wiggling connector while running and report back

Is it a constant issue or intermittent? If its intermittent could be a short somewhere I think the icp and ipr share a 5v wire could be shorting and creating an open.

It's a constant issue. Don't really notice it until under a load but it has been going on for quite a while now. Just towed approx 4000 lbs 160 miles through West Virginia and I didn't think I was gonna make it up some of those mountains. Used to tow my big trailer as fast as I wanted to go. Kinda depressing really...

If icp shows low and you are having loss of power, then it's probably reading correct.
I'd check ipr.

I made my Samsung SGH-I997 send this.

That's what I was curious about. So, does the icp control the ipr? Or simply read the pressure?
