Fuel Pressure in idle?
I had a scan tool hooked up and it said my injector pressure in idle was about 425 psi. I revved it up and it hit 1300 psi at 2000 rpm. Does this sound right? Just trying to educate myself.

That's not fuel pressure. That's oil pressure feeding your injectors. Your injectors have a pump that's called a hpop, or high pressure oil pump. It takes oil from the low pressure pump behind the harmonic balancer and pressurizes it to somewhere between 400 at idle and up to 3000 at WOT. that pressure opens a poppet on the injector and fuel squirts into the cylinder at about 60 psi......

Without adding a sensor, your truck and any scanner hooked to it, cant read fuel pressure.
Here is how to check fuel pressure: |
