Forum search tools---inadequaqte

I'm sorry to even have to post this. I know it has probably been posted a million times before, but I've searched and searched and cannot find any good answers---- maybe there aren't any.

2001 7.3 225000 miles, 4" turbo back, DP Tuners installed a couple months ago.

Keep in mind when I mention "cold start" that it is still in the 70's here. I'm referring to a cold engine.

Engine starts every time, has a slight extended crank, not too bad. It runs normal when up to temp. Never stalls

When engine is cold and i pull into traffic I put my foot down and I get almost no throttle response. I know people say that there is a "oil temp saftey" thing written in the programming--- but it never did this before. I have NO visible oil leaks. I don't have a ebpv. so I know that it isn't closed.

I have a code reader but not an auto enginuity. Anyone ever had this? where can I start looking without spending 400 dollars for software.

Thanks

See if you can monitor the TPS (throttle position sensor) with your tool. They have proven to be problematic and, if bad, can make your PCM not "see" the pedal is off idle intermittently. I know nothing about an "oil temp safety"...
