During the past week I have experienced some problems with my truck either cutting out or just dying while driving. Doesn't do it all the time but it sure has me mystified as to where to even begin to look. I have read the threads about the cam sensor not sure this is the problem yet. I got in the truck yesterday and had no power to the radio. No fuses are bad. One day last week I got in the truck and it would crank over fine but it never fired off. I let it sit for maybe 5 minutes and tried again, this time it started and I haven't experienced the problem since.
I am beginning to think it may have something to do with the fuse panel. I have been told that sometimes it could be my chip or the switch for my chip. I have checked all connections and they seem to be fine. The one time last week when it wouldn't fire it seemed as though the chip was in the performance mode when the switch was set to effeciency. I say this because the only time my truck really blows smoke is if you have the chip set to performance mode. Since that time I have run the truck in stock mode and just yesterday I turned the chip back to effeciency and everything seems fine, it hasn't cut out again. If anyone has ever experienced these same issues please help. |

this is just a shot in the dark. how old are your batteries? reason being mine would turn over like normal but wouldnt start. the batteries were to low to power everything needed to start it. i could also hear a loud click when it turned over under the dash.does that sound familiar? not just one click but a repeated click. this not starting would happen randomly. like i said just a shot in the dark.

Within the last 3 months I have installed two Optima yellow top batts and a new high output alternator. I have not heard any clicks from under the dash. With the sound system I have it will definately let you know if you have a power problem, the amps will start cutting off.
At this time I have checked batteries, alternator, battery cables the plugs on the fuse panels, ground cables and all fuses. Everything appears to be fine. This is really starting to make me think it is a possible bad connection somewhere but with the problem only happening occasionally its going to make it difficult to find. I do appreciate your help Super Stoke! |

I haven't been able to pull codes yet I am going to try first thing in the morning. I am going to have the chip checked also. I was told that there were some difficulties loading the programs into my chip whenever it was installed, but it has been in there for 2 yrs now and no problems. I was also asked if the gauges went flat, I haven't lost anything but the motor just coughs every once in a while and sometimes she dies only to restart right away. I have only had one instance of the motor not firing up again and all I did was wait a couple of minutes and try again and it was successfull. I'll keep ya posted on the codes if any, and when I do find the problem believe me I will post the cure!
Thanks Guys I truly appreciate your help. |
