Volts Too High?

I'm very new to diesels and noticed today my volts meter seemed a little high. Am I right? If so what could cause this? Thanks

Use a volt meter 13.5min to 15 max, higher you'll start to cook your batteries.
Gauges in dash are idiot lights turned into gauges.
Never understood why(cost I know) they do that, how much warrantte money they would save if people had accurate gauges. (gas or Diesel).

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I have only had the truck a few days, but ACCURATE gauges are definitely in the near future.
