started project

I just started working on a 02 van . It has 135K and had real dirty air filters to start and bad coolant . All that changed and the oil to T-6 . Next I took off the air tube to the turbo and it was caked on the bottom of the tube . That was all cleaned and replaced minus the big box that doesn't do anything . NOW I need some help please !! It runs fine sometimes and then it starts running bad . It can just be parked with the motor humming away then it will start running bad .
NEXT the BIG problem is I live in Old Mexico and getting parts is very hard or even pulling codes is a problem . Where should I start ?? Thank YOU one and all !!
