99 7.3 f350 hiccup at 2300 rpm. I don't geeeeeet it!!!

I've got a 99 f350 4x4 crewcab dually that runs and pulls awesome, until.....
The other day I was headed home and it cut out on me a couple of times. So I changed out the cam position sensor, and unhooked the batteries. And now it runs smoother than ever until I hit 2300 ish rpm accelerating. When it hits that rpm it hiccups and then keeps on climbing like nothing happened. I have an hpop and fuel pressure gauge and they don't even twitch so I'm assuming, because I don't know jack about diesels, that it's a sensor or electrical bug. So any help would be awesome and thanks ahead of time.
The old ride has 256k miles, 6spd tranny and a dp tuner, afe filter, and a 4" turbo back stainless exhaust. Other than that I think it's stock.
Keep in mind I don't know hardly any abbreviations for these parts and thanks again.
