loss of turbo?

My 2000 7.3 f250 seems like it has lost quite a bit of turbo. My takeoff is alot slower then it used to be. Seems like the turbo is a bit laggy to kick in, laggier then it used to be at least. I used to hear a hissing sound right around the time i noticed the loss of turbo. I dont hear that sound anymore. It was king of a SHHHHH sound. Not the turbo whistle, i still hear that. Any help would be great thanks guys.

not to insult your intelligence but have you checked the rubber boots near the radiator? both sides, make sure those hose clamps are tight around both ports. i had the same problem for a while and was looking in all the places but the obvious, maybe youre doing the same thing. if not, sorry.

I would start with inspecting the rubber boots as said and looking for exhaust leaks before the turbo.

Also, inspect your air filter and maybe take the intake tube off of the turbo and inspect that to see if it turns freely.
