Need help -

Hi all,
New to this Forum - recently bought this good looking car...which seller stated was in excellent nick...and I live in Norway where the dealership are non existent due to bankrupcy last monday..

2001 7.3 PSD running like crap - changed the IDM, which caused the problem to smooth out - but its still there.
Changed CMP/CPS - getting better, did the EBP clean up and its getting more responsive without this hard cacle that sounds like ingnition failure or when an injector let go.
Changed the oil in the motor - then 4 times in upper gallery - getting better.
At this stage the motor is kinda drivable - plenty power, starts right up BUT have an issue at idle in terms of shaking and I can hear it miss on very light trottle.

Then I bought the AE - software and did some test runs.
When doing the comparison test the #1, #3 and of course fameous #8 are way out of line .

Thinking of replacing all eight together with the wiring harness / head gasket.
and need some advice of where to bay some reman. injectors from a dealership with good reputasion and of course if you guys have any idee of what causes this or think I'm on the wrong track here - PLEASE let me know.
I'm very open for suggestion and appreciate any help.

Love the car

Helge :-)

Need help..

So - in order to use the AE to its potential I need the operating range of any readable sensor out here that are contributing .

Like the IAT :
Intake Air Tempereature sensor strategy Input. PCM uses this for EPR control - 5 volts in. 3.897 volts @ 32' F, 3.09 @ 68'F, 1.75@122'F
This is what I'm looking for - anybody that can or will give away the figures related to the sensors on this 2001 7.3 PSD will be in my afternoon prayers for the next coming days :-).

As stated I did this contribution test which turned down 3 of the injectors/cylinders, but I forgot to mentioned that I also did run a buzz test and they all sounded healthy.

Another thing - these cars due to they're weight don't have the option of reading every sensor trough the AE software, this is also stated on the Company's website.
Do anyone know of extension software which are comparable with the Auto Enginuity that will handle this "issue"?.

Last update

Did some TLC - changed the fuel filter which was clogged up - this caused
the motor to work even greater.
The misfire are there yet - but trottle response and power did increace and kinda brought the motor to normal working order as far as power and driveability goes.
Since there are this light misfire on idle, and the contribution test still give me an indication of misaligment between #1, #3 and #8 I still lean towards getting the UVC harness replaced together with reman. injectors.

Need advice where to bay a set of reman. Injectors - if anyone have
a company which they are satisfied with or would like to reccomand, please
let me know.

Helge
