Hey guys!
So I popped open my hood yesterday on my 01' 7.3 with 140xxx miles on it. I noticed that at the top of my coolant resorvoir was a thin film maybe 1/4'' in thickness that was sitting above the coolant. I pulled the cap and looked inside. It didn't look like oil at all but it had little white specks in it. I started it up the next morning and looked at my exhaust and there was no white smoke, my coolant and engine temps are great, and the truck runs awesome.
The previous owner did take it to Oil Can Henry's to drain the coolant and fill it so I wonder if maybe they added something to clean the motor? I have no idea on this one guys. I have heard of injector cups maybe going out or maybe a bad oil cooler but I am not sure if it is either of the two or both or not at all.
any help is greatly appreciated!
