Shut down leaking coolant

Driving into work this morning and I can hear a hissing noise and something that sounds like a pressure washer going off under my hood. I slow down to a roll and my truck completely shut down and died. When I tried to restart the truck acted like it was out of battery and took several long slow cranks before i could get it started to pull off the road. Upon inspection coolant is leaking on the ground and has been thrown all over the engine bay along with small metal flakes. Is this just the water pump or is it something more?

edit: also power steering and brakes went out temporarily.
