New Engine Noise

I have a 1999 Powerstroke with about 110,000 miles and a Hypertech chip and recently when the engine is under significant load (like pulling a load uphill) I hear a sort of chugging sound coming from the exhaust. I do not feel any drop of power or any other systems except for this exhaust noise. Any ideas?
