7.3 running rough and lacks power
I have a 2000 7.3 that i was pulling my camper with and all of the sudden it started to run really rough and lost some power I limped it home but could barely do 50 mph I had a 60 horse tune in and she was puffing black smoke like it was a big tune. Seems to idle ok but runs rough when you hit the throttle any ideas thanks

UVCHs, low boost cause by leaking exhaust or boost leak, ICP issue.
I made my Samsung SGH-I997 send this. |

My father has a 2000 7.3l and was experiencing a similar issue. His turned out to be the wiring harness under the valve cover on the driver side worked its way lose. Just something else to check if you run into a dead end.

I recently bought a2000 sd that ran great with no load..took it on a job in ok and put 2k miles on it during that time with no load..everything seemed fine till I hooked my camper to it this part Fri Foote a little vac before the next job.after about 15mi truck started running just like you are describing and limited it back home chugging smoke all the way...got it home dropped the camper and it drove fine with no load..the fuel pump was kinda loud and sounded like air was ruining through it..changed fuel pump and its running great now..pulled the camper about 90 mi right after pump change on vac no problems so far..I have also had in the past with other trucks the uvc gaskets do this..check fuel pressure if possiblefirst tho..
