loss of power & running rough

i think i have bad fuel or picked up trash. this morning it starting running rough and had no power. whether i barely pressed the gas or floored it, no change, wouldn't tach up or anything. I never saw any smoke or check engine light. any suggestions?

First, I would pull the fuel filter cover and take a look. if the filter material is black, replace it. Second, scan or have the 'puter scanned. Determine if any codes have been tossed. Third, check for loose connections under the valve cover. seems to be fairly common. Fourth....let us know about 1 through 3.
