I cleared the codes with my cortex programmer. Should I worry about them though?

The codes are back. Anyone have any ideas? It cuts out on heavy throttle. New to diesels. Not sure where to go from here

for your 1249, first check that the red tube leading to the wastegate is connected. check that the line is not leaking or plugged.
here's a diagnostic i stole off another site for p1249: KH5 DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE P1249 — CHECK KOEO FOR P1690 DTC P1249 indicates that the PCM detected the turbo was overboosting. Possible causes: short to ground plugged WGC hose or port WGC solenoid WGC actuator WGC valve damaged PCM Perform KOEO On-Demand Self Test. Is DTC P1690 present? Yes.............No GO to KH1 . GO to KH6 . KH6 CHECK WGC HOSES Disconnect the RED hose from the WGC actuator. Install Gauge Bar 014-00760 vacuum pump or equivalent to the hose. Does the hose hold vacuum? Yes.............No GO to KH7 . GO to KH8 . KH7 CHECK INTAKE PORT Disconnect the RED hose from the charge air cooler housing. Does hose still hold vacuum? Yes.............No REPLACE WGC hose. RESTORE vehicle. CLEAR DTCs and RETEST. CLEAN out plugged charge air cooler housing hose port. RESTORE vehicle. CLEAR DTCs and RETEST. KH8 CHECK INTERCOOLER PORT Disconnect the RED hose from the charge air cooler housing. Install vacuum gauge to the port. Does the port hold vacuum? Yes............................................... ...............................................No CLEAN out the plugged port. RESTORE vehicle. CLEAR DTCs and RETEST. GO to KH9 . KH9 CHECK ACTUATOR Install vacuum gauge on the WGC actuator. Does actuator hold vacuum? Yes.............No CHECK WGC linkage for sticking. REPLACE if necessary. RESTORE vehicle. CLEAR DTCs and RETEST. REPLACE WGC actuator. RESTORE vehicle. CLEAR DTCs and RETEST. as for the p1211, you will need a scan tool capable of viewing icp pressure. one thing you can check is the ipr valve. there is a sheet metal retaining nut with a spacer on the back of it. check to see that the nut has not backed off. here's a great pdf i found explaining your icp, ipr and high pressure oil system to a small degree, with diagnostics. however, as mentioned, the viewing of icp and live data will be necessary to diagnose http://www.fordtechservice.dealercon...iagnostics.pdf |
