7.3 intermittant check engine light

Hi we have a 7.3 2003. The check engine light has been coming on and off intermittantly for a while, with a noticeable drop in horsepower and louder engine noise. The code when checked is low icp pressure I think... however since the cold weather, the initial start of the day sees the engine idling like a blown drag car, which will go away if idled up To 1000rpm. The problem is the car will not rev up over 1000rpm until it has idled for five mins, hence will not drive. When the engine light goes off, the car goes like a rocket...

Any ideas?? Would a faulty cam position sensor have anything to do with this?

We really need some where to start with this, any input greatly appreciated.

My mechanic told me the cam sensor acts like someone reached over and turned key off ...my 03 7.3 when climbing a steep grade and AFTER passing gear kicks in losses power and sounds like bees buzzin ? i pull over and let it sit then drives ok 25 mph and slower ?
