Rough start with white smoke
Getting my feet wet on deisels with a 01' F-350 with 7.3l. Think it may be a GPR or glow plug. Here are the symptons. When cooler/cold out when trying to start it usually takes a few times of cycling the key while waiting 45sec-1 1/2min between cycles to start. Once it does start it blows excessive white smoke until it warms up a bit. After it has run and warmed it starts with no issues and no smoke. The smoke does have a smell of diesel fuel. No power loss when running and have not noticed any loss of any fluids. Truck has 197k on if that makes any difference. Any help with diagnoses would be appreciated. Trying to figure out how to test GPR and have read there is a stancor relay that works better but don't know what model that would be.
