early 99 over heating!!

ok. truck starts and ran great til the wife drove it while im in korea. It went about 15 miles and had a short stutter with a puff of white smoke that is said to smell like burnt diesel, oil, and rubber all in one. Problem goes away. Another 15ish miles truck temp shoots up to super hot where she pulled over and parked it. Had my buddy look at it, flushed out the coolant and said it had what looked like oil in it. replaced thermostat and degas cap and after refilling it now spews coolant out the degas cap. seems to have a bit much pressure in the coolant. SO! what am I looking at? Blown head gasket? cracked head? blown water jacket? Recently changed out all 8 injector cups due to having diesel in coolant if that might have something to do it.

HELP!!!

well if anyone stumbles upon this later i'll lend a bit of advice. take off your fan shroud and check your radiator. you may be surprised at the amount of dirt and crap that can be stored in a powerstroke radiator. At least 75% of my radiator had little or no airflow whatsoever. The rest seemed to look like it was only clean due to the force of the fan pulling air through.
