Fuel Pump Noise?
I am hearing an intermittent rattling/ dull clanging noise from the rear of my 2000 7.3 PSD. It's not real loud but you can hear it from a wheel well when the truck is running. does not sound like anything is loose and I have checked most things to make certain they are tight. is there a fuel pump in the tank that could be making the noise? any thoughts?
thanks! |

there is not pump in the tank, only the sending unit for the gauge....
Sounds to me like an exhaust rattle...either the pipe contacting something or maybe something loose in the muffler if you still have yours on..... Does this sound possible, or are we looking at something else?? |

the muffler theory is my next best guess too. It does have a 6 month old Flowmaster. thanks Marc.
