Popping from filter

I just Did the 6637 and muffler delete to my 2001 7.3 F250 Lariat. When i was driving i put about 500 kms on after the install and i could hear a small ticking from infront of the drivers seat. Then almost home it began to pop from the filter it seams, I was wondering if anyone knew what this could be? the popping is consistant and matches engine rpm's

Could it be an exhaust leak you're hearing.

I have done a search and cant seem to find anyone with the same issue... it almost sounds like it is backfiring into the filter

it does have blue smoke at startup not that was not there before

I had a friend a while back whose dad has a '97 7.3. About a year ago he was having similar issues, but it wasn't very consistent in when it happened. If I remember right, it was either a pushrod or valve issue.

Sorry I dont remember the specifics of it, I'd just thought I'd throw that out there.

I just checked the oil filter cap and when removed it did seam to have some small amount of smoke coming out from it... I have checked the codes and i only get a P0603 could it be a turbo issue?

Some smoke from under the oil fill cap cap is completely normal. As long as it's not like pouring out haha.

I suppose it could be a turbo issue. How do the fins look? Any shaft play?

When I installed my 6637, intake noise did become much more pronounced than before.

Yea when i installed it ... the sound was great, but i was just driving down the hghway then i heard the pop pop pop and now it doesnt it all the time ... no starting issue or anything just some smoke and loud noise .... i will take the hoses off and look at the turbo here soon

P0603... Thats a KAM code isn't it? Back when I ran an Edge on my truck, every time I checked for codes, it always pulled it, but it didn't affect anything so I ignored it.
