hello,
i recently traded for a 2002 f450 7.3l diesel truck and i cant figure out if this is a problem or if the RPM are supposed to be this high. the truck seems to do fine when driving in the city however when i get on the interestate is when i question the performance. when im doing a steady 70 MPH the RPM reads roughly 3, and it redlines at 3.5 so im thinking this cant be right? im not that familiar with diesel's so i could totally be wrong here.
so my question is, are the RPM supposed to be at 3 when im doing ~70MPH?
please let me know asap before i blow this thing up hnoes:
EDIT:
and this is without any load...
