coolent in oil
I have a 2002 F350 7.3L with 223000 miles on the motor. My coolant level was low so I added some. After adding coolant I got more white exhaust smoke than normal. I have been told by the local ford dealer and a independent diesel repair shop in town that just to determine weather it is a head gasket, warped head, injector seal or cracked cylinder it will run $2,000 to $3,000 just to find out.
I have a couple of questions. Is there a way to determine where the coolant is getting in without tearing the motor down and if it is a cracked cylinder does the 7,3 have cylinder sleeves that can be replaced or is the motor done? |
