High miles no blowby
Test drove a truck with 271k on it. Ran pretty darn good and when i took oilcap off there was damn near zero blow by. Previous owner doesn't know if motor was rebuilt. I found it odd. Anyone else ever find a high mileage 7.3 with no blow by? Could this be indicative of a problem?

I'm not sure of any problem with that.
my '01 with 195,000 miles doesn't show any blow-by (open filler cap, test with filler cap upside down on fill tube.. stays put). |

my 2000 has 269,000 zero blowby, only thing replaced is the water pump 7.3 is a dang good motor i used to a cummins man, i've had three also a good motor, but this 7.3 has converted me, had plans of putting a 12 valve behind the zf6 but i dont know if i can now, after talking to local diesel mech he said he had seen seen many 7.3's with over 500,000 and one with 730,000 on its 2nd set of injectors a few water pumps and glow plugs that tells me alot there but just like anything just depends on how its taken care of
