having trouble with ebp tube removal

Hi all, hoping someone has some insight for me...

working on cleaning or replacement of ebp tube on 2001 model. did my '99 yesterday, no problem, 10 minute job. got to my 01, and got everything loose, but i must have spent 2 hours trying to get that #%&*$% tube out of there. its got dual alternators, and the lower one is giving me fits. do i need to remove something, or have i not found the proper combination of twists and turns yet?

the bracket severely limits wiggle room about midway on the tube, and the alternator itself limits me from twisting the tube to a different orientation. surely others have done this with the dual alts., but i can't find any posts about others having problems with it.

Any suggestions?

also, is there a way for me to test the sensor? i have an extra now and wondering if it's any use to keep it?

I don't know about the dual alt setup but to test the sensor use a scanner, you should see about 14 psi which is barometric pressure when the engine is off and of course it will increase when running, even higher if EBV is closed. I don't recall what those numbers should be.
