There is a sticky or two talking about testing the GPs, GPR, and general cold starting stuff. In the 7.3 sections.
How new is the oil, filter, and fuel filter? If you don't understand the HEUI system, read up a quick bit on it. It'll explain why oil matters so much.
So once it's warm, it's perfect?

Check your fuel filter, and make sure its clean. Also make sure that he connections on your valve cover harnesses are good and tight, sometimes an injector can stick and cause miss fire. Once it gets warmed up, it will go away if its only an injector issue, and not a wiring or fuel issue.
