E99 loss of power erratic!!

I've had my e99 7.3 for less then a year. The guy I bought it from told me it needs a #8 inj. I didn't want to change it unless I knew for sure it was that one. I have been driving it even with the minor skip and haven't had any problems until tonight. I am running #2 heating oil straight. I had about 1600 lbs in the bed and as I started up a grade I started noticing a power loss. I couldn't get the truck over 45 to 50 on the level highway even at 2500 to 3k rpms. So I limped it to auto zone and bought a new filter. Threw it in at the parking lot. Truck fired up no issue. Drove it about thirty miles starting and stopping without problems. Then i unloaded. Then on the way home I had the cruise set to 75 and all of a sudden I noticed the speedo go down and I took over only to have the same problem. It did blink the overdrive light once. I had to pull over before heading over a bridge cuz I was worried I wouldn't make it over. After idling and shutting down and restating it went away. As I gained enough speed to get over the bridge it started sputtering and lost power again. Any ideas?? Please help. I really appreciate it!!!

First off, get the codes pulled. A blinking OD light means you have set a code for the transmission. 3k RPM at 50MPH means your either winding it out in second or the transmission is slipping.

i dont think it was winding out in second, if it was then i would have had awesome throttle response and i had nothing. i am wondering if it is my tourque converter? When i was slowing down to a stop its like it almost cleared up sometimes. When i put it in park it idled like ****! I dunno
