2000 7.3 - no power
I am working on 2000 7.3 auto I assume. Owner say it just lost power and he couldn't go faster than 10mph and it triggered a cel. He then turned the truck of and restarted and then cel was off and ererything was back to normal. He said this also happned a couple years ago and it was injector related. Injector selonoid? I havnt scaned it yet but just want to get an idea of what it could be. Ebpv closing, icp, ipr? He says the oil is changer on time.
Thanks |

Loose UVCH would be my first guess.

Ok so I looked at the truck lastnight. It goes from running great to out of nowhere the idle down to about 400rpm and real rough and kinda has a miss to it. It also has almos no power. Then it will go back to running 100%really normal and then back to normal running rough with no pattern. It is actually a zf6 and not an auto, and it almost stals in Low grear. It triggers an engine light bit it goes out right when it starts running rough. It does not take a key cycle to get rid of the engine light. I skaned it and did not pick up any codes at all. I don't have the best scanner but I would have thought it would picked up something.
Anyway I unplugged the ICP and made sure both UVCH conections were tight. It ran the same way. Bad IPR, injector solenoid, UVCH? Any help is great |

It also seams to only happen when the engine is warm. Also I went to drain the fuel bowl to see what came out and only about a tablespoon of fuel came out? Kinda odd?

sounds like the fuel pump may be bad if there is little to no fuel in the bowl. Or it could be a clogged pickup in the tank. Look up hutch mod it will go over what clogges up.

I have a similar condition. It misfires, most of the time have no power, sometimes has some power, but still misfire. The buzz test showed cylinder 5 with substantial less noise, so I have a set of injectors stage I with the chip to install (my original ones are split shot) and I plan to do tomorrow. Also, is on order an SPR1.
