2001 7.3l powerstroke excursion will not start after fuel filter change

I had a leaking drain valve on my fuel bowl so I changed valve and fuel filter at same time. She started up initially after change but rough then died. I have been unable to get it started since. Fuel pump works fine. Any suggestions?

That's mean looking Excursion you got there. Is that 16.40 in the quarter?

Thank you. Yeah it was. Its more like 15.80 now.

Have you taken the lid off the fuel bowl to see is it is full of fuel or not?

Yeah. It's only about a third or less full. When I turn ignition on there are a few air bubbles in bottom of fuel bowl. I'm on my second new fuel filter. All fuses and relays check out. Sounds like its getting no fuel.

Did you refill the fuel bowl after the work? If not, then you got air in the fuel lines and it just needs to be cranked out.

Yeah. I filled bowl after second fuel filter. How many cranks would it take to get air out of line? I've been cranking for two days now. I've read that some have had problems with the cam sensor?

Send a message via MSN to cpearen
Did you check in spring at the bottom under the filter?
Make sure it's in there properly. If it's jammed or something
It's designed not to start without a filter in. So if it's stuck, it wont start

Thanks. I'll check it. How important is it to use oem filter vs a Baldwin? Do you think I should change my cam sensor since I never had recall notice?
