2001 7.3 Powerstroke starting problem
This has been an on going problem, our 2001 F-350 Dually (7.3 automatic) used to start but you would have to give the truck some throttle as soon as it starts (about 1500rpm or so) and hold it until the oil pressure gauge rises, otherwise the truck would start missing and die. but if you started it this way, it would run perfectly fine after that. But now the truck doesn't fire at all until the oil pressure gauge comes up, and then it fires right up (if the batteries last that long).
Parts replaced include both the lower oil pump, and the high pressure oil pump, all 8 injectors, the oil check ball and spring, and the cam sensor.
Sorry if this topic has been talked about before, but any help would be greatly appreciated! as we are totally stuck on this one
