Valve cover gasket connetor issue?

I did my injector O rings and my truck was running absolutely amazing! I took it on a test drive and the CEL popped on and my truck started running rough..shaking,missing,no power and rpms were climbing extremely slow. So I got it home shut it off started it 5 min later and nothing was wrong..went on another test drive CEL again but power stayed almost normal. I have noticed the connector that connects to the valve cover gasket outside the valve cover..the very top of the clip is broke off. I checked at Ford and they offer a pig tail kit but cutting and crimping that many vital wires seems a little iffy to me.

Nothing wrong at all with replacing those pigtails and connectors. The connectors are not the greatest, and require help now and again. Thing is to make sure that when you do the cut and crimp, you seal all the connections completely, to avoid corrosion issues.

Disclaimer: although there are clean engines out there, I have yet to see one that should EVER have a corrosion issue of any sort.

While you're at it, take the valve covers off, and do the 50 cent mod, if you didn't do it while changing the o-rings.

Good luck with it

Ya I may end up doing it if I have to take them back off again. I ended up with a quick solution to the problem. Since the clip was broken on the outer side I just stuck a quarter in it and its tight ( for now we'll see how she lasts) lol
