Nothing wrong at all with replacing those pigtails and connectors. The connectors are not the greatest, and require help now and again. Thing is to make sure that when you do the cut and crimp, you seal all the connections completely, to avoid corrosion issues.
Disclaimer: although there are clean engines out there, I have yet to see one that should EVER have a corrosion issue of any sort.
While you're at it, take the valve covers off, and do the 50 cent mod, if you didn't do it while changing the o-rings.
