Rebuild now or latter?

About a month and a half ago I noticed a slight knock in my 99 7.3. I've always changed my oil around 3500-4000 miles but I've only put about 40000 on the truck and am not shur how many is on the engine, shows 257,000 but the motor was put in jan of 10 3 month b4 I got it. It's just been getting worse and I hate to destroy my block. It coming from the front left, used a crowbar against the block. It uses about 3 quarts between changes but the turbo is leaking outside and maybe on inside too. I guess I should run a compression check b4 I pull it to c if I should do the rings huh? What do y'all think?
