Hey guys I have read a lot on the rough idle issues and have a few questions about mine...
I have been going through trying to figure out what is causing my truck to run like it is... so far, If i unplug the ICP sensor it throws codes and runs like crap, ran a buzz test and it passed and I switched out my new grey cps with the dark blue ford one... no change with any of this so I am leaning towards it being one or more injectors also on a side note I had some bad fuel a few weeks before this problem started and my water in fuel light came on a few times, I drained the water and it would go off and come on a while later, I got a bottle of the Heat water remover that is okay to run in diesel and got a new tank of fuel. The light hasn't been on since. Truck ran fine for about a week or two after the water in fuel light before it started running rough. Heres the video, it doesnt sound horrible in the video but you can deff feel it chug as you just start off from a stop until it gets rolling then it feels fine unless it is in a higher gear at real low RPM's then you can feel a shutter or miss and less power than normal... Rough Idle |

Anything with alcohol should not be put into the tank.
You could of gotten power service or any other diesel additive just make sure it says it removes water from the fuel on the bottle. I would say with the way it is running you need to replace the injectors. I would check your HPOP and fuel pressures first before replacing the injectors. My truck idle's a little rough but my rpm's do not bounce arround like yours and I know I need injectors in mine. My truck will not start when cold I have to plug it in to get the injectors to fire. I actually had to press down on the accelerator pedal a little last time to get it started then it idled missing on a couple of cylinders until the injectors got warm enough to unstick. |
