2001 7.3 Needing Rebuilt or Swapped

I am fairly new to the org. I have looked through many threads for help and ideas but have not posted. My situation is this, I bought a 2001 F250 7.3 with 140,000 on it. Thought the motor had plenty of life on it. The oil had supposedly been just changed so I waited a while before I did so myself. After I changed it I kind of thought I heard a knock or tic noise. Asked some other people for their opinion. Some thought it sounded normal others thought the it was making the noise. Drove it for a while got worse. Took it to the local diesel mechanic here in Harrison, Ohio. Listening to it he thought it was an injector, and now he pulled the head of and said scored #2 cylinder walls. His theory is who I bought from knew of the problem because the #2 injector had been changed. He thinks they put heavy oil in it and put it for sale. The local diesel guy gave me basically 3 options: repair mine for $5,000, put in another 7.3 with 165,000 for $5,000, or drop is a Jasper complete motor for $9,000. I told him for what I am going to be spending I probably want a re-manufactured basically new motor but I don't think I want a Jasper. A man I have known all my life who has been building up cars and hot rods said he wouldn't own a Jasper and I haven't read a lot of good things on here. Could you who have experience please give my some opinions, guidance or ideas. Also maybe some good shops in my area. Harrison is by Cincinnati. I read through the list on another thread and found a place in Indiana. I would really appreciate it.
