trucks limping and stalling help me out anyone

i was driving lastnight and i drove about 20 miles to pick up my girlfriend high way the whole time not into it at all... except for blowing that honda v tec's doors off. but other then that pretty easy on it. well i was driving up hill and my truck started loosing power untill it stalled. so i pulled it into a parking lot and let it cool. i turned around to head home and i got about 1/8 mile and it did it again. i parked at a parking ride and got some friends to go pick a fuel filter up from the local ford dealer and replaced it and added more fuel into my truck. same problem exsisted. so today i was told by a good friend and the best ford diesel mechanic on the coast that i needed to pull my lifter out of my tank and clean all the screens out of it. so that was todays job and after all that work and cleaning .. same problem. now my fuel pump whins on my frame and it doesnt sound to hot. could this be the next step to look at. its not the cps cause that reads rpms still. and it idles for days no problem. just when it calls for fuel it chokes like its not getting it due to a blockage or a shotty fuel pump..

questions
if its my fuel pump should i go with a fuel system air dog etc..(help me out with that)

or does anyone else have any ideas as to the problem
it sounds like it happens to alot of people in the search i did..

so help me out please please please

If your fuel pump is whining then thats a little sign it's going out.

I just stick with OEM replacement pump unless if you got alot of mods I wouldn't worry about upgrading.
