Ok so I had the same problem with my engine replacement. Yes I did have a crack. It was hard to see but eventually I found it. I would look real close with a good light at your front engine cover where the resevior meets. Look at the right side where the bolt goes into the engine cover. This is where my crack was at.
You have to have the correct gasket. If the engine you are using had the gasket with screen you must use that one. If it had the gasket with out the screen you have to use that one. I am sorry I do not have the part numbers for the two.
But I will look tomorrow in my shop to see if I have the box from the gasket I needed which has the screen.
