Electrical Issues Sporadic
have a 02 F250 4x4 7.3...226,000 miles..last 6 months I have had intermitent total electrical shutdown issues. truck will run fine then just everything goes dead...may start right back up, coming back to life on its own...not dependent on hitting bumps, smooth road, etc. Changed out the entire fuse block, ran fine for 4 weeks and now has started it all over again...I'm frustrated and lost for answers. Anyone else have this problem? All battery cables are in good shape, new ends, tight, etc.

My 01 had kinda the same thing turned out to be grounding issue. Mine was the ground from the ABS module to the grill, brhind the driver side headlight. Since I have ground everthing from engine to frame. No more problems

OK guys...finally got an answer..truck has been in a shop 4 days being trouble shot...intermittent electrical failure was due to a pinched pink wire under the passender seat...got caught in the seat structure...apparently from the inertia switch loom behind the passenger kick panel...not sure what it is for...whether there was ever an aux tank or aux fuel pump designed into an Excursion or one of the SD family of trucks...wiring diagrams never show what it connects to...anyway, disconnect at the inertia switch loom and all seems to be back to GOOD. Wow...hope it helps someone else...has been nearly a year hunt down, for me.
