PLEASE HELP!!!
i was at a country concert over the weekend and decided to romp on my 2002 7.3 powerstroke and blow black smoke. after a few times to the floor my truck started to have a rough idel. so i shut it off and went to veiw the concert. when i went to leave i got on the road and the truck would buck down the road. but there was no white smoke. i hooked it up to a snap on solus and did a buzz test and it came up with no dtc. i ran another test and it told me my pcm may need to be reflashed. could this be the problem and why did it happen and would it cause my truck to run like this. also when i get on it it and let off it makes this noise near my intercooler/ air filter area. what would do that. when i ran a countributhion test tripped 2 codes one was a 0278 and the other was a 0284. would theses trip if my pcm failed

Did you blow a boot off your intercooler? What were your boost #'s and EGT's?

The question is, Why would you want to blow black smoke? Giving us diesel drivers a bad name. We are getting enough heat from the EPA.

One side wouldn't buzz, but it might be intermittent.

Because he was at a country concert, showing off... Not infront of a bunch of prius driving hippies that are gonna vote to get rid of diesels.
