Engine vibration

My 2000 7.3 started vibrating today on the way home from work. Any one experience this? I was on the highway, I put it in neutral and it went away and came back as I revved up to 1800 or so. Ran smooth at idle at the 1st light but slowly got worse at idle. I stopped and lifted the hood to listen and it sounds fine. I checked the oil and trans fluid, both were good. Initial throat response is delayed. When I got home it idled, 800 ish RPM, with the same level of vibration as much at 1500 while driving. The fuel filter has 3500 miles and the fuel has been in the truck fuel 8 days. I plan to drain the fuel filter and if that does not work replace it.

Any other ideas?

Thanks Bill

Water pump. In the light do day the water pump bearings was way loose, the fan was wobbling, the belt lost 2 ribs. It was not leaking water but the pulley had over a half inch of wobble..
