99 7.3 not running well
i just picked up a 99 f250 for $800 the guy was gunna scrap it and the truck has 284,000 miles on it and i wanted to try to fix it but when i start the truck the idle is pretty rough and the truck has no power and does not rev up unless i hold the peddle for a few seconds i have a feeling that i might need injectors but this is my first desiel so i am not 100% sure if anyone could give me any suggestion i would appreciate it

I think that the Van 7.3 and the truck 7.3 are the same motor. The turbo on the van is non-wastegated I believe so you will have to use the Van PCM or swap the turbo from the truck over. Again this is all a guess man, Ive never delt with the vans personally. Take a look around the threads or Im sure someone else will chime in on here.

the truck idles but it idles rough and like almost dies when it idles idk i believe the motors are the same but like the other stuff lik you said up there the manifolds i know are different because of the engine conpartment on the vans is different than the pickups but i didnt know about the turbo...and the dipstick has no bubbles but when i did get the truck it had no oil in it and i put oil into it

If the truck had no oil in it and you put oil in it, then you may not have enough oil in the high Pressure oil Pump. There is a plug you can take out of the HPOP and check/fill it. If it does not have enough oul in there then it will not fire the injectors and there for causing it to run like SH**. You may have a bad HPOP, very common with these motors with that many miles on it. Just my thought.
