Need help troubleshooting
Okay guys, I bought an early 99 F250 about a month ago. The guy who had it before me was terrible at maintenance and I've been working on getting it revived.
Here's what been done: by the dealership: changed an injector and a couple of sensors (not sure which) they also did a test no the turbo and it checked out ok. by me: changed oil, flushed coolant, changed fuel filter, diy intake, 4" straight exhaust, working on getting the steering and suspension fixed. Issue: two nights ago I started up my truck after it sat for about 15 minutes and it did this weird loping thing pretty harshly. I turned it off, and started it back up about 5 minutes later and it fired up correctly. Now I'm noticing when I start it that it has a whitish smoke coming out of the exhaust and I can't figure out what it is. Any clues on what I can start looking at? |

anybody? I drove it again tonight after sitting for a day, it hasn't done the loping thing, but it's acting weird. The smoke is still there and it seems really sluggish from a stop. It seems to get better after the engine is warmed up. Anything you guys can point me at to look at?

Okay so I was digging around in the motor today and found something that was not plugged in.
On the intake tube that connects directly to the turbo there are 2 little plastic cables, a red one and a green one. The green one was just laying there and I pushed it back in (it wouldn't really snap in place). I fired up my engine and it seemed to be back to normal. Was this a co-incidence or is that green cable important? |
