NEED HELP! Mystery issue!!!
Ok guys i'll give you the rundown of whats going on. I have a 99 f350 1st gen, 2wd with 4inch exhaust, chip, gauges and intake.
The issue im having is as follows. The truck would startup but was running rough and was lacking serious power. I was told by strictly diesel that my fuel pump was bad. I changed the fuel pump and fuel filter. This fixed nothing. I then changed the CPS. This fixed nothing. I removed both valve covers and found 1 injector was unplugged on each bank. I plugged both injectors back in and buttoned everything back up. The truck now idles a lot better and runs better but heres the problem. As soon as it gets to normal operating temps the problem returns. It feels like its missing on several cylinders and isnt getting enough fuel. I have used a infared thermo to test cylinder temps and theres at least 2 cylinders that are a lot cooler than the rest. My chip isnt reading any DTC's or codes at all. I had a diesel tech come out to look at it and when he threw his Tester on the truck to read ipr's and hpop pressure he said it all looked good. He feels that I need to change the injector o-rings, glow plugs and under the valve cover harness. I don't wanna just keep throwing money and parts at the truck if I havent pin pointed exactly what the problem is. Any and all help would be appreciated. I'm at my wits end and I need my truck for work.
