02 weird idle..maybe normal?

hey guys, new to diesels here just got mine about a week ago...anyway i know they don't like the cold, but when mines fully warmed up, its got a funky idle going on...seems like it idles around 600 rpm than jumps up to 700 rpm for a few seconds then back down...it does it pretty much every 20 seconds or so when at an idle or parked...is this normal for the 7.3?

try pulling your ICP sensor plug and see if that makes it go away. Mine did that when my ICPS was going bad. Its located on the drivers side head, looks like this:

You want to disconnect the quick connect there. IT'll throw a code but if it idles more normal then its probably going bad (the sensor)

I have a similar issue, but have more to mine. Mine will idle the same, but doesn't stay up around 700, it'll just jump for a second then right back to normal. It does it pretty regularly, about every 3-5 seconds. And when i'm driving at a steady speed, the "cackle" will go away and has no power then it the cackle will come back and has power again. 01 7.3 auto with AIS, stock straight piped and bullydog 6 position. about 150k on the clock. Ideas I have are sludge in the oil, loose chip connection?
