fast idle
can someone tell me what sensor or sensor's control the fast idle on a cold engine. My 02 psd would idle up to about 1100 rpm on its own, my 99 will not.

does your cruise control work? my fast idle quit working on my 2000 found out it is linked to the clutch pedal switch. when that switch is broken the truck thinks that the clutch is in so the idle will not kick up.. it's a medium sized black and white cylinder looking thing. that slides back and forth on the clutch pedal rod. It is spring loaded and when broken it doesnt slide.. Hope that helps

Is your 99 a superduty or the lighter duty. I think only the super duty has the idle up option (99.5). Also there is a sensor on the airbox of the superduty that mesures the air temp. Hope this helps!
