Has anyone heard of putting bout a pint or quart of transmission (ATF) in your fuel tank (full) to clean up your injectors? Someone was telling me this and said he had tried it, with no problems? according to him this adice was coming from a expericened diesel tech

cant beat a good injector cleaning, it requires hooking up to the fuel lines and running a cleaner through the pump and injectors with a special cleaner, i use bg products.
the difference is amasing. smoooooth runing afterward. anything else only does partial cleaning at best. |

IT TAKES A CANISTER TYPE TOOL, WITH HOSES ANS A AIR FITTING, ONCE HOOKED UP AD 30PSI AND OPEN VAVLE, THE ENGINE RUNS OFF THE CLEANER. ONCE CANISTER IS CLOSE TO EMPTY STOP, UNHOOK HOSES REINSTALL FUEL LINES.
BUT YES IT IS TYPICALLY A SHOP THAT WILL HAVE TO DO IT. I DO MY OWN, IM A BG DEALOR. THE INJECTOR CLEANING TOOL SELLS FOR ABOUT $5-600. BUT COULD BE MADE FOR A SMALL AMOUNT OF MONEY. I COULD SEND U A PICTURE OF IT. LOOK UP BG PRODUCTS. I USE THEIR OIL AND OTHER PRODUCTS,INCLUDING TRANY OIL ECT. |

What about Stanadyne Diesel Fuel Additive?
I read where some people pour it in the fuel filter bowl to straight shot it directly to the injectors and add the rest of the bottle to the fuel tank when filling up. |
