Replace the turbo?

Have an 02 7.3 with 175K on it I have it stacked between a 6 gun and chip both from Banks.....when I get on the throttle and keep it there the engine light comes on.....Local 4wheel drive shop said I need to change the turbo to keep up with the extra power from the tuner and chip. Does this sound right to anybody?

Nope...get the code read. May be an overboost code or an ICP code. Either way get it read before you start throwing stuff at it. Also look into some better tunes from a vendor on here. You will be happier.

i bet your ICP is outta range, hpop cant keep up with all the demand from the stacked chips, dont stack, bad bad.. just get php, tw, or DP tunes and dump the banks CRAP.

Programmer is pushing you past the 23'ish psi setting that defuels the mtor and sets off the light , does it go away after 30 sec or so ? overboost annihalator or something along the lines of a boost fooler of some kind. Find a new shop too !!

Need a boost fooler, Custom tunes on a TS chip and more than likely a better HPOP..best..SRP1..we can fix you up.
