Faint Tapping/Knocking on E99, Louder on Passanger Side
I am having a bit of an issue here with my 195k E99. Lately I've been noticing a tapping/faint knocking sound mostly in the cabin of the truck. It happens when I am at idle mostly as I can't hear it enough on the interstate. It's not very loud but I can hear it, and when I have the truck running at operating temp I notice the sound more on the passanger side than the driver's side when I stick my head under the wheel well. I've already looked around for exhaust leaks and cracks in the pipes anywhree but everything looks in tact, and there is no soot nor are there any broken heads on the manifold bolts.
Any thoughts? I ordered a Blackstone kit and will be submitting that shortly when it arrives, but I'm starting to get concerned about the health of my motor. Thanks |

sounds like an injector. if your worried about the health of your motor go to your local machinery dealer and purchase a oil analysis kit. 195K isn't even broke in yet

Thanks for the reply. I did order a Blackstone kit and I am just waiting for it to show up, but the wait is killing me. I haven't really been driving my truck since this issue began.
