Rough Idle and shut off!!!

I have a 2001 f 250 with 181,000k. about 10 months ago the icp went out and i was out of town and had to take it to ford and they replaced the icp and wiring harness. well not to long after that i noticed some jumping in the rpms. about a week ago i was warming up my truck in the drive way and when i walked outside to leave the truck had shut off on me. a few days later i was cranking up to leave and it idled very hard and i pushed the accellerator and it smoothed out. It has some that twice in the pas two weeks. I have never relpaced the cps. Maybe the icp is going bad. No check engine light. Any Help?????

First step, get a new CPS. Keep the old one as well (Until its proven to be bad.)

Some say the CPS from Ford is poor, but better than from parts stores. If you have not had the recall done, it's free and can't beat that. Here's a link to check for recalls.

I have all 3 different types of CPS (that I am aware of) I keep the 2 spares in the glovebox with a 10mm (6pt) socket, 1/4drive ratchet and a 2" extension.

Light Grey - Ford Recall part - I didnt like they way the truck ran with this one.

Dark Grey - International part - Ran ok, little rough but strong sounding, never had a chance to really push it on this CPS.

Black - black from dieselorings.com - Just installed yesterday, havent ran it yet.
